    Primary ECT+

    The Primary programme is not currently running for 2023-25. 

    Whilst the Early Career Framework materials help ECTs to develop their understanding and application of pedagogy and strategies for effective teaching and learning, we believe that this forms only part of the training required to become a truly effective teacher.

    With this in mind, Hampshire Inspection and Advisory Service (HIAS) offers Primary ECT+, which provides additional training to further develop a teacher in their early career.

    ECT+ has been designed to run alongside the ECF training programme,(this may be the Hampshire Align programme or one from an alternative provider), and throughout the two year period of induction. The content and structure of the programme has been informed by feedback from ECTs, mentors and schools. All sessions are delivered by HIAS inspectors and advisors.

    Secondary ECT+

    Introducing Secondary ECT+ is a NEW webinar offer from Hampshire Inspection and Advisory Service (HIAS), aimed at ECTs in year one or two of the Early Career Framework (ECF) programme. Led by our team of HIAS subject professionals, ECTs will attend a free online introductory webinar during autumn 2023. This session will provide crucial contextual background to their subject within Hampshire and will provide valuable guidance and advice such as access to useful resources as well as networking opportunities.

    Following this initial introduction, ECT’s will have the opportunity to take part in further bespoke follow-up sessions over the academic year.

    Since September 2021, all Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are required to complete a two year professional development programme based on the DfE’s Early Career Framework (ECF) and designed to give them additional support at this stage in their career.

    Working in partnership with Ambition Institute, HIAS staff continue to deliver our fully funded ECF training programme - ECT Align - to our ECTs and mentors, in both primary and secondary schools across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

    ECT Align is a two year sequenced programme consisting of face to face conferences and online clinics. The programme includes manageable, carefully selected self study and practice materials on behaviour, instruction and subject for ECTs and mentors in school, delivered through Ambition’s online platform.
