  • Strategic Leadership of Tackling the Impact of Economic Disadvantage (Pupil Premium)

    A series of six sessions to review individual school data alongside the emerging national/local picture as well as focusing on the strategic aspects of leadership before to the oversight of this vulnerable group of children. 

    Objectives:

    • strengthen leadership confidence in driving effective Pupil Premium strategy across the school
    • build a deep understanding of the barriers faced by disadvantaged pupils in both local and national contexts
    • develop the skills to use high quality evidence (including EEF guidance) to inform strategic decisions
    • improve the use of assessment and data to diagnose pupil need and track impact meaningfully
    • enhance the quality of classroom practice and curriculum equity to support disadvantaged learners
    • strengthen targeted academic, pastoral and family engagement approaches
    • learn how to evaluate provision effectively and write a robust, high quality Pupil Premium Strategy Statement
    • collaborate with peers to draw on expert local authority guidance across six sessions throughout the year

    Executive Leader Network for Collaboration and Improvement

    This network is designed to facilitate conversation, problem solving and develop closer networking relationships for those working in federations or collaboration. The sessions will be tailored by you, so while there are outline areas described below, they will be adjusted to the needs of the group.

    The first session will consist of networking, understanding each other's context and sharing approaches. From there we will set a primary focus for each session and explore reading materials and other media to support and challenge our thinking together.

    Objectives:

    • successful networking with other senior leaders
    • opportunities for problem solving everyday challenges
    • opportunities to review leadership structures - unpicking a variety of models and approaches
    • sharing of approaches to safeguarding when leading more than one school
    • how to successfully delegate responsibilities - how do we ensure action and impact? 
    • successful performance management approaches - how do we manage this effectively? 
    • reviewing approaches to budgets and finance across your settings - how do we ensure best value for all?
    • opportunity to share and discuss current research and approaches to leading more than one school
