Laura moved into the role of School Improvement Manager for special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and Inclusion in April 2024 bringing a range of experience across different settings and phases.
Over the last 20 years Laura has worked in a varied of leadership roles across mainstream and specialist settings. More recent roles linked to outreach, required work alongside school, parents and other services in areas of high socio-economic deprivation. Recent leadership of a range of secure and specialist settings has enabled a keen focus on quality improvement and supporting children who are experiencing the most significant challenges.Biography coming soon.
This time has enabled Laura to develop:
- A deep and specialist understanding of neurodevelopmental development and creating supportive environments
- A passion for genuine inclusion and relational practice
- A solution-focused, strengths-based approach to responding to challenges.
In her current role, Laura utilises her expertise to:
- focus on the school improvement function for the county special schools
- provide oversight and monitoring of resourced provisions in mainstream
- provide oversight on the quality of independent non-maintained special schools and alternative provision
- develop strategic plans for increasing inclusive practice and understanding.
