Courses and Consultancy
Many of the support staff courses (prefix SSTP) seen in the Learning Zone can be delivered on school premises. We also offer advice and consultancy for schools in relation to support staff. This might include, qualification frameworks, progression routes, development of support staff performance management and advice on the deployment and development of support staff. Please contact email@example.com for more details.
OCR Support Work in Schools Award
This is a service that we can deliver to schools, either as a taught programme in a single school for several participants, a taught programme in a single location for a cluster of schools who want to share the cost or as an accreditation only service for schools who wish to use their own in house induction as the training element.
Routes to teaching for support staff
If you are a member of support staff considering making the change to teaching and you already have a degree please visit the Department of Education's Get into Teaching website.
You may also wish to consider the Straight to Teaching programme available through the TES Institute.
If you need to get a degree to enable you to access teacher training and prefer to do so whilst remaining in your current job and studying part time you may wish to consider foundation degrees or the Open University.
