Isle of Wight Pathways to Progress

This practical, interactive, half-day course will support Maths Managers on how to implement ‘Pathway to Progress – A mathematics intervention programme for Year 2 and Year 6 pupils.’ ‘Pathway to Progress’ is for pupils who are working below age-related expectations, but are not on the SEND register, and will need additional support to secure the key skills in number and place value and the four operations so that they are able to overcome barriers to learning and make accelerated progress.

Life after KS1 Statutory Assessment (IOW) 2023-24

This course is specifically designed to support Year 2 teachers in the first year after the removal of KS1 statutory assessment. Offering CPD at strategic points in the year, this course will focus class teachers on evaluating the progress and attainment of their students across the academic year 2023-2024 to support reporting to parents, as well as facilitating a smooth transition to KS2.

Securing end of Key Stage standards in English and mathematics (IOW) 2023-24

A multi-session course to ensure teachers in Year 6 are prepared for statutory assessment in writing in the summer of 2024. The course will include opportunities for staff in Year 6 to explore the current strengths of their children, whilst identifying the key next steps through high quality ongoing formative assessment. Gap tasks will ensure a precise focus on key areas and delegates will have opportunities to discuss and share the progress made by their children between sessions. This course will also provide an opportunity for schools early in the spring term to receive standardisation training based on key messages from the STA around end of key stage 2 writing assessment.
